In 1997, soon after a visit to a show of Marc Chagall's work at the Los Angeles Museum of Art, I rushed home to create this painting of a blue-faced woman with philodendron hair. Goddess of the Blue Moon is an 11.5" x 15.5" original watercolor painting by Raphaella Vaisseau, using her signature, layered color on color technique, framed in 19" x 22" gold wood frame. Soon after I finished this painting, I began work on "Autumn Vortex" and moved to Ashland, Oregon to begin my journey as a full-time artist. Twenty-seven years later, even after my entire Heartful Art Gallery was lost in the floodwaters of Hurricane Helene on Sept 27, 2024, I continue my journey as a self-supporting artist, living in Asheville, NC.
