Print of three spirals in shades of purple, pink, and blue. To Raphaella, spirals are reminiscent of the
Ocean of Divine Love and Mercy from which all life is created and to which all life returns, also known as the Heart of God.
In naming this painting, which was created on Christmas Eve, 2002, Raphaella at first felt it to have the
essence of the trinity, yet also embodied the quality of unity because the three spirals seemed to be leaning against each other.
She looked in the dictionary and discovered an old word that combined them both: triniunity.
Then, about a week later, while watching a PBS documentary about the history of the planet Earth,
she learned about eddy fields and the currents in the ocean. To her, the spirals in this painting look just like the ocean's
eddy fields as seen from space. Voila! The painting is named "Oceans" but to Raphaella, it has the essence of all of three:
trinity, unity, and eddy fields from space.
If matted, please let us know if you have specific preferences for color of mat. Note: Giclee prints are unmatted.
