A 14.75" x 10.75" original watercolor painting by Raphaella Vaisseau, using her signature Color on Color layered watercolor technique. The alpha and the omega to me, the mandala was the catalyst for the start of my journey in watercolor in 1981. I had been fascinated with mandalas since 1972, creating them constantly with crayon, pen, pencil, or markers, on scraps of paper or in my journal. In those days, intent on my spiritual awakening, and not wanting to miss a second of inspiration, I carried my journal with me everywhere I went. One evening, as I mused out loud before a work of art at a Minneapolis gallery show, I wondered what my mandalas would look like in watercolor.
