A 48" x 48" original watercolor painting by Raphaella Vaisseau, using her signature Color on Color layering technique. Started in 1997 as she prepared to leave Los Angeles to pursue her dream of being a self-supporting artist. She worked on Autumn Vortex throughout the three years she spent in Ashland, Oregon. She had painted another floral spiral ten years before, and felt inspired to do a second one. "People often ask me where I begin a painting of this complexity. I begin with the bottom or back layer. Then move forward, adding layer upon layer, balancing as I work, until it is complete. Painting is more of a meditation to me than a task. I love the process of unfoldment that comes with creation. My job is simple: breathe in and breathe out, and enjoy the process. Color is joy." Framed in an acrylic cube with white recessed mat. Giclée prints and one print on canvas are available.
