Anja Leigh Some of these recipes are from my Mom, my daughter Cate, Oprah, Whole Foods, Rachel Ray, or www.lowfatweekly.com. However, most are from my dear friend Anja, who inspires me to eat and live well. Over the years, we've discovered halva in Chicago, Spinach Pie in SoHo, and lived in a spiritual ashram in Minnesota for three years in the 70's (where we ground our own flour and explored the world of macrobiotics with Michio Kushi). More recently, we discovered the SF Farmers Market and happened upon a smaller version in downtown LA. From her I've learned that food is beautiful (to look at as well as to taste), cooking is fun, and eating is a pleasure. And, there's always something new to discover.
