"My love of mandalas and symmetry are evident in this 1991 watercolor painting. Zinnias were my flower of choice in every garden I planted as a child. Their full blossoms with petals in concentric circles remain an infinite source of fascination to me. The shape of their petals show up in many of my works of art. Flower Power is an explosive celebration of this magnificent flower. Some people see in this painting, not a flower, but rather a woman sitting in a lotus position with her head bowed.
